Pitta Skin Type.
Your skin will have the tendency to be oily, reddish and sensitive. Boils, pimples and acne will be more pre–dominant in such skin types. This can be treated with the help of substances that have smoothness, coldness, soft and astringent qualities.
According to Ayurveda, the human body is governed by three intelligences - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These intelligences are commonly known as Doshas or humours. As they are the governing force behind every function in our body they manifest through their qualities.
Pitta dominant skin has qualities of the fire and water elements.
Pitta skin has a tendency towards acne, pimples, blemishes, redness, blackheads and pigmentation, due to hot, oily, sharp and intense qualities in the skin. The skin is more likely to gather impurities from the environment due to the stickiness and oiliness of the face, leading to acne and pimples. Hot and sharp qualities of this ayurvedic constitute have the tendency to burn the skin cells and leave marks such as blackheads, white heads and blemishes.
Apart from the qualities that come naturally from the elements, a Pitta dominant person has tendencies towards anger, frustration, holding on to emotions, too much pressure and being a workaholic; overall, too much go-go. These factors also reflect on the skin; which ultimately leads to an increase in qualities such as hot, sharp, intense, oily and acidic skin.
